How to download SPAM folder

SPAM folder is not downloaded from gmail by POP3. But GMails usually puts a lot of bounced emails into SPAM folder.
Heavymailer needs to download them, so it can remove those emails from your list. But there is a workaround for this.

  1. In GMail, click on Create a new filter
  2. In field “has the words”, write “is:spam” and click NEXT.
  3. Check “Apply the label” and select “New label”, write any name you want. We’re using “MySPAM”.
  4. Check “Never send it to spam” and click “Create filter”

All emails which came from now on, will not be placed in spam folder. But you can anytime open MySPAM folder, check all emails and click “report spam” or “Delete”. But remember, you should process emails in heavymailer prior to deletion.

Pay attention to limits which are in Google’s gmail

We strongly do not suggest using gmail’s SMTP server in heavymailer.

  1. If you access Gmail via POP or IMAP clients (like Heavymailer), you can send an email message to a maximum of 100 people at a time.
Otherwise your account will be disabled for a day with the error “550 5.4.5 Daily sending quota exceeded.”
  2. If you access Gmail from the browser, you may not address an email message to more than 500 people at a time.
If you add more than 500 recipients in the To, CC or BCC fields, your Gmail account can get disabled for up to 72 hours with Error: “Gmail Lockdown in Secton 4”
  3. If the email message contains a large number of non-existent or broken addresses that bounce back on failed delivery,
your account will be temporary disabled.
